My favorite place to go kayaking is the Fort Worth Nature Center…Most of the river is shaded all the way up to Eagle Mountain Lake Dam and back … It takes about three hours to pedal all the way to the dam and back to the canoe launch at the big river parking lot. … remember the nature center closes sharply at 5 PM ... You Must Exit the Refuge by 5 PM ... Please stay aware of the time and the weather. It is no fun kayaking in winds over 10mph. The Nature Center charges $6 per person to enter the refuge
Address to the kayak launch is 9170 Shoreline Rd, Fort Worth TX, 76135
This free park sits on a little cove or bay that is perfect for first-time paddlers on Lake Worth. It’s a nice little park with shaded picnic tables, grills for grilling hotdogs, and a nice long sandy beach for Swimming. Sunset Park also has a Playground and porta potties for using the restroom. This park closes at sunset, and if the winds are over 5 miles per hour, you're better off going to the slow-moving river at the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge. Just remember the nature center closes sharply at 5 PM.
Address to Sunset Park is 8855 Watercress Dr, Fort Worth, TX 76135
If you have a vehicle with a 2 inch trailer hitch you can rent a kayak trailer from us for $20 a day as long as you rent kayaks with the trailer. We do not rent just the trailer. Kayak trailer will hold up to 6 Kayaks.
We are located 1 mile from the entrance to the Fort Worth Nature Center.
